4 Things To Remove From Your Studying Environment

When it comes to school, my study skills could use some work. I’m constantly procastinating, and avoiding homework. When I finally start to do my work, it takes me forever because I’m always getting distracted. If you’re like me and you’re trying to be better, then you most likely need to remove these four things from your studying environment.

Distractions

Cut back on your distractions. Don’t scroll through Instagram, Tumblr, or any other social media while working. Matter of fact, don’t even touch your phone (or tablet) while working. That tweet, text, or snapchat can wait.

Web Surfing

Initially, you opened this tab so that you could check your homework. Now, you’re watching cat videos on YouTube and catching up on Grey’s Anatomy. Close those irrelevant tabs and get back to work.

Idle Hands

When you have down time, try and spend at least some of it working on upcoming assignments. There’s no reason for you to spend an entire Thursday night rushing to type an essay that’s due Friday morning. Instead, work on it throughout the week so that the night before you don’t have too much work to do.

Distracting Music

Everyone loves listening to their favorite Beyoncé song on replay. However, songs with lyrics can distract you when you’re studying and make it harder to focus. So while you’re working, try to stick to instrumentals.

Hopefully, this helps you as much as it’s helped me, and good luck this semester!
